An off-brand of the Infinity Rake, the loom has 236 pegs and is big enough to create a single sided KING size afghan. Seeing as we have a king size bed, I'm going to make an afghan for us!

As an added incentive, I will be writing a review for a loom knitting magazine covering this specific loom that I got for Christmas. So I'm pretty stoked about that. We've figured out what yarn (Light and Lofty) I will be using for the afghan. I'm not certain if I will be using a pre-done pattern or making one up but either way I'm looking forward to the challenge AND testing out this loom.

Merry Christmas!

Joel

FO By Christmas Eve

So... I made a mad dash at finishing the Pleasing Ponchette by Christmas Eve. Once the panels were finished, Rebekah crocheted an edge to the top of the Ponchette (to help reduce some of the curl from the stockinette stitch edge) and then rather that doing the seaming instructions that were on the pattern... we had her crochet the pieces together. Finally, (also not in the pattern0 we added some fringe (about 6-8 inches long) made up of the 2 strand red/black combo.

I think it looks decent and Rebekah really seems to like it, so that's a good thing. We'll post photos as soon as we can take them and get them uploaded.

Merry Christmas!

Take care,
Joel

Lots of Knittin'

Hey everyone!

So I have really been kicking it out on the Pleasing Ponchette for my wife. Since my last post only a couple days ago, I've started the second panel, completed ALL of the increases and then did the first 9 inches of straight knitting. I have to do 21 inches of straight knitting total then I do decreases, bind off, and seam the two panels together.

So I've been productive.

:-)

Take care,
Joel

Growing and Going

So... when I last posted less than a month ago, we had nearly 35 members in S-M-A-C-K! It's grown to over 50 now. So while it's not maintained the initial rate of growth, it is still growing and as of yet, I've not added another moderator.

In project news:

I've finished the first panel of Rebekah's Pleasing Ponchette and posted photos in Flckr / Ravelry. One more identical panel to make and then I can seam the two panels together. Rebekah seems to be liking how it's coming out thus far. So that's good. I'm hoping that maybe I can finish this by Christmas but we'll see. Today is 12/01.. so that doesn't give me a ton of time to work on it.

SMACK!

What a trip.
